The day has come – The Challenge begins! What will be your first challenge, and job knocked off the Christmas ‘to do’ list?
I was sitting filling out my Challenge planner last night when I received a phone call. My auntie wanted to come over tomorrow (ie today) and see how I’d dressed the house for Christmas and have a coffee. Normally, I love seeing all my family, but at this time of year the thought of taking an hour out of my day to do anything other that work is almost unthinkable. BUT, I had only filled two of my “for me” challenges, I decided seeing my Auntie and catching up with her, was perfect for my third ‘for me’ challenge.
I know we shouldn’t feel guilty about sitting back and enjoying ourselves, or taking a moment to relax, unwind, or simply have a coffee with great friends and family, when are lives are otherwise very busy. But, sometimes I do. So, today I embrace day 1 of My 12 Days of Christmas Challenge with a bit of time out. That call came at the perfect time, and this Challenge gave me the excuse to set the date in my diary. It also opened my eyes to the fact I shouldn’t need an excuse, and it actually feels good saying yes and looking forward to a little down time in the middle of my day. I can honestly say this little ‘a-ha’ moment is a very pleasant surprise.
Now, I know some of the other tasks will involve a bit more work, but I’m looking forward to completing them. So, I hope you will share in the comments section below, or on our Facebook page what your first Challenge will be. There is also the option of sharing on Instagram with #my12daysofchristmaschallenge.
Thanks again for signing up to this Challenge. I’m so looking forward to sharing the ride with you all.
